Some good citizen has taken a stand and halted the continued apostrophe abuse at the University of Pittsburgh. Apparently someone reached up to the sign and chiseled the apostrophe right off. Perhaps they were inspired by this blog?

This sign appeared on a trail in the Grand Canyon. My friend suggested that perhaps the wood-burner just didn’t have an apostrophe stencil, but really…how hard is an apostrophe to freehand?
Normally I’d suggest fixing it yourself, but in light of recent events…
Wow. Perhaps they’re celebrating that there is one student who actually is for McCain.

I spotted the sign in the attached photo at Dune Dog Beach Grill in Jupiter, Florida on a recent visit. I thought the placement of the apostrophe between the r and the e in “wer’e” was really creative. Not once, but twice! Perhaps it should read: “If wer’e not in English class, wer’e at the beach!”
