It’s/Its confusion in LA Times furniture ad

Cindy sent in a photo of this advertisement that uses its instead of it’s, and vice versa:

    Actually, the one in the "arch" area at the bottom is correct. :-)

    Not exactly, Anonymous. *It's* is a contraction of it is, or it has, while *its* is the possessive form of *it*. See http://xrl.us/itsits

    I want to put hyphens in the arch line, too.

    "It's our-make-room-for-2010 sale."

    With the hyphens, it seems clear that the "it's" is correct here.
