Hey cowboy’s, we sell lady’s wallet

Eva sent both of these in. The second sign was posted in a discount store.

Why do they think cowboy needs an apostrophe to be plural and cowgirl doesn’t? WHY???

I stick to my theory that unnecessary apostrophes occur more often when the noun ends in a vowel.

I just want to sit down with these people and please for them to tell me what logical steps they went through in writing these things. Though I guess I’m assuming too much about their thinking.

Thanks for posting these. :) I know of another thing–a billboard!–I need to send in a picture of, too.

For all you know that house might be selling just one lady’s wallet. It could be an accurate use of an apostrophe. Let’s not assume.

Maybe cowboys are more possessive than cowgirls.
